Put a CAP on Climate Crisis
At Rewind Plastics, we are setting out to reduce landfilled Plastic Bottle Caps by collecting them before they get to the ground. Our fabrication process allows us to safely reform this plastic into everyday objects we use and love.
This Social Enterprise idea came from a single pitch at Jose Lam Memorial Startup Weekend 2019 in Corner Brook. A group of enthusiastic individuals gathered at Grenfell Campus for the weekend to pitch their problem-solving business ideas and broke into teams to work on them. Out of 13 pitches, 6 teams were formed: including Rewind Plastics. Our teams idea was simple: Find any reasonable way to reduce landfilled plastics in Newfoundland. A panel of judges awarded Rewind Plastics with 1st place in this competition, stating that they hope Rewind Plastics continues its efforts.
